This Armenian Artsakh carpet, dating back to the 18th century, is one of the outstanding examples of early Armenian carpet weaving. It is distinguished by the use of natural dyes, ancient ornamental designs, and a harmonious, vibrant color composition.

At the center of the carpet is an impressive medallion surrounded by four large scorpions depicted with curved tails. These ancient protective (apotropaic) symbols are harmoniously integrated into the geometric composition, creating the distinctive visual language characteristic of early Artsakh carpets. Such scorpion motifs are rarely found in early Armenian carpets and are considered among their most valuable features.

Measuring 5 feet 3 inches × 10 feet 4 inches (approximately 160 × 315 cm), the carpet bears witness to the high artistry of Armenian carpet weaving, symbolic thought, and the rich cultural heritage of Artsakh.
