The territory of the Armenian cemetery in Kharberd (Elazığ) has been officially registered as a cultural asset, granting it legal protection status.
The registration is an important step toward preserving the historical and cultural heritage of the Armenian community that lived in Kharberd (Elazığ) for centuries. The process was carried out under the supervision of Father Avetis Tapashyan, Inspector of Provincial Communities, and under the leadership of Arman Yağcı.
Following the decision, Armenian Patriarch of Constantinople Sahak II congratulated the Armenian community of Kharberd, emphasizing the significance of the registration in preserving historical heritage.
The official registration of the cemetery is an important guarantee for preserving the site and the historical traces it contains for future generations.
