On the 17th anniversary of Aram Tigran’s death, Tigranakert Mayor Serra Bucak once again called for permission to rebury the remains of the renowned Armenian musician in Diyarbakir, thereby fulfilling his final wish.
Aram Tigran, who sang in Armenian, Kurdish, Turkish, Arabic, Greek, and Assyrian, became an artist whose work connected the cultures of different peoples.
Due to a ban imposed by the Turkish authorities, his wish was not fulfilled. A symbolic burial was held at the Armenian cemetery in Tigranakert, while the musician’s remains were later laid to rest in Brussels.
