Several Armenian non-governmental organizations have called on the European Union to demand that Azerbaijan investigate cases involving the destruction, appropriation, and alteration of Armenian cultural heritage in Artsakh.

According to the statement, Armenian monastic complexes were presented as “Caucasian Albanian” heritage to foreign diplomats who visited Artsakh on September 11–12. The NGOs expressed concern over such approaches and called on the international community to ensure the protection of Armenian cultural heritage and independent international monitoring.
