Toponyms of Artsakh: Dahrav

Dahrav, a village in the Askeran region of Artsakh. The area is 2044 hectares. In Dahrav they practice livestock, agriculture and woodworking. It has a secondary school, a medical center.In the village are located, the Church of Hovhannes (XIX century), with a khachkar (XIII century), nearby: a chapel (XI century), ruins of ancient churches (XI and XIII centuries), spring-monument of Raffi.

In 1989, a volunteer detachment was formed in the village (commander: Slavik Arushanyan), on the basis of which a platoon was created, then a company (commander: E. Khachatryan). Since 1992, the detachment has participated separately in self-defense battles of villages in Askeran region and in liberation battles in Shushi, Berdzor, Karvachar, Akna and Martakert regions. A group of freedom fighters from the village received the "Martial Cross" of the 2nd degree order of the Republic of Artsakh
