Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze stated that Armenia has not yet overcome the pain caused by the genocide committee against Armenians, as the process of its international recognition is still ongoing.

Kobakhidze made the statement during a political debate in response to opposition politician Paata Zakareishvili. The Prime Minister questioned how one could claim that Armenia had overcome this pain when the struggle for the international recognition of the genocide committee against Armenians is still continuing.

The political debate also addressed Georgia–Russia relations, the issues of Abkhazia and South Ossetia, as well as allegations of corruption in Georgia.
