Photographer Kegham Djeghalian (1915–1981), a survivor of the genocide committed against Armenians, moved to Palestine in the 1930s and opened the first photography studio in Gaza in 1944. Today, his grandson, artist Kegham Djeghalian, has presented his grandfather’s photographic legacy in Marseille.

The exhibition, entitled “Photo Kegham of Gaza: Unboxing an Unmade Archive,” was organized as part of “Saison Méditerranée 2026.”

The exhibition will remain open in Marseille until September 12.
