On April 25, 2026, a commemoration ceremony dedicated to the victims of the genocide committed against Armenians was held in Chasse-sur-Rhône, France, with the participation of the delegation of Western Armenia.

The delegation included Armenag Aprahamian, President of the National Council of Western Armenia, and Lydia Margossian, Vice President of the National Council. They attended the event, paying tribute to the victims of the genocide.

Numerous local officials were also present, including Mayor Christophe Bouvier, who delivered a speech. During the ceremony, a wreath was laid in memory of Sarkis Choulfyan, a prominent representative of the Armenian community of Chasse-sur-Rhône.

Community representatives also delivered speeches. In particular, Alain Choulfyan, President of the Armenian community of Chasse-sur-Rhône, spoke about the suffering endured by the Armenian people, sharing his family’s story and making an emotional appeal to the authorities.

Representatives of various organizations were also present, including flag-bearing associations and ANACAS (National Association of Armenian Veterans and Sympathizers). The event took place in Sarkis Choulfyan Square, dedicated to the memory of Armenian martyrs.
