For years, the Armenian community in Jerusalem’s Armenian Quarter has faced harassment, threats, and discrimination from extremist groups.

In one of the latest incidents, six ultranationalist religious Jews spat at the entrance of the Cathedral of St. James and threw stones toward Armenian homes.

Insults against Armenian clergy, desecration of holy sites, and physical attacks have become a serious problem for the community, also raising concerns about impunity. However, the response of the international community continues to remain limited.
