France is Concerned about the Incidents Happened in the Armenian District  of Jerusalem

This is stated in a post published on the microblog of the General Consulate of France in Jerusalem.

"We call on the Israeli authorities to refrain from any unilateral actions that question the status quo of Jerusalem," the post said. At around 11:00 a.m. on April 3, the Israeli police started an illegal eviction from the "Cow Garden" estate of the Armenian Patriarchate of Jerusalem, destroying the property of the Armenian Patriarchate of Jerusalem and attacking the clergy and local Armenians.

Aghan Gogchyan, the diplomat of the Armenian Patriarchate of Jerusalem, informed about this on his Facebook page.

The patriarchate leased a part of the Armenian district  of the old city of Jerusalem to an Israeli company for 99 years.

As a result of the transaction, a worrying situation was created in the Armenian Patriarchate of Jerusalem, in connection with which His Holiness the Catholicos of  Armenians Garegin II had a telephone conversation with the Armenian Patriarch of Jerusalem His Holiness Archbishop Nurhan Manukyan.

During the discussion, the Patriarch informed His Holiness that steps are being taken for the protection of the rights of the Patriarchate and for the successful resolution of the problem.

In relation to the created situation, the Armenian community of Jerusalem organized several protests. Three organizations, "Homenetmen Jerusalem", "Armenian Youth Union Jerusalem" and "Beresirats Union", issued a statement calling on the Armenian Patriarch to cancel the deal for the "Cow Garden" estate and offering the support of the community in this matter.

On November 1, 2023, the Armenian Patriarchate of Jerusalem announced that they  had made a decision to cancel the lease contract  for the "Garden of Cows".
