Myanmar authorities have reported 1,002 deaths and 2,376 injuries after devastating earthquakes measuring 7.7 and 6.4 on Friday, March 28. The tremors felt  also in China and Thailand.

At least 1,002 people have been died  and 2,376 injured after a powerful earthquake struck Myanmar on Friday, the country’s military said. The death toll is expected to rise as rescuers clear the rubble. A rescue worker in Mandalay, Myanmar’s second-largest city, told the BBC that “the damage is enormous.” Rescue efforts continued through the night despite numerous aftershocks.
