As it is known, “ On March 28, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) attacked a Hezbollah drone storage facility in the Dahiya suburb of Beirut”. This was reported by the army press service.

President of France  Emmanuel Macron condemned the Israeli strikes, calling them a unilateral and unjustified violation of the ceasefire. Lebanese President of Lebanon Joseph Aoun  in Paris, made a similar assessment during a meeting with Emmanuel Macron.

Emmanuel Macron also called on Israel to withdraw its troops from five Lebanese regions and recalled France’s proposal to deploy UN peacekeepers in those areas. “France will continue to support dialogue and stability in the region”, Emmanuel Macron stressed.

Meanwhile, US Deputy Special Representative for the Middle East, Morgan Ortagus, said that Israel has the right to retaliate, emphasizing that Lebanon must take control of its territory and negotiate with Israel.

He noted that Lebanon cannot be compared to Gaza, as the war in Lebanon was instigated by Iran and Hezbollah, and expressed hope  there would be diplomatic relations between Israel and Lebanon. Earlier, the Trump administration had also encouraged Israel’s new military operations in Gaza.
