The Israeli regime has carried out new airstrikes on the southern suburbs of Beirut and areas in southern Lebanon after residents were previously urged to evacuate the region.

According to Lebanese authorities, the ongoing military operations have already displaced around 760,000 people across the country.

Lebanon became involved in the regional conflict last week when the Iranian-backed Hezbollah launched attacks toward Israel. This was followed by new Israeli military operations, including airstrikes and the deployment of ground forces in border areas.

Lebanon’s state news agency reported that strikes also hit the southern districts of Beirut, where Hezbollah maintains a strong presence. Several explosions have also been reported in southern Lebanon.

Lebanese authorities state that since the beginning of March, at least 486 people have been killed and more than 1,300 injured as a result of Israeli strikes.

The United Nations notes that the pace of displacement during this conflict is faster than during the 2024 Israel–Hezbollah war, increasing the risk of a major humanitarian crisis in the country.
