On April 18, the House of Representatives of Cyprus honored the memory of the victims of the Armenian Genocide with a minute of silence, promising to fight for a world where peace and justice reign, and where the atrocities of the past will never be repeated.

"CyprusMail" informs about this.

Acting Speaker of the House of Representatives Zakaria Kulias noted in his speech that April 24 marks the "black anniversary" of the genocide against Armenians.

He also added that millions of Armenians were "forcibly displaced, subjected to deprivation and mass murder" over the years.

Zakaria Koulias also reminded that the Republic of Cyprus is the second country in the world to recognize the genocide committed against Armenians in 1975.
