The Issue of Artsakh Is not Closed

According to political scientist Manvel Sargsyan, after the war unleashed by Baku against Artsakh in 2020, the self-dissolution of the Republic of Artsakh and the forced displacement of the Armenian population, the security problem of Eastern Armenia came to the fore.

The problem of the people of Artsakh came down to exclusively humanitarian problems. But even there, the expediency of protecting the rights of the people of Artsakh in international structures was questioned.

The government of Eastern Armenia considers a priority issue of integrating the forcibly displaced population into the Armenian society. There is an opinion that such a policy can provide Eastern Armenia with international support in ensuring security.

Actually, the issue of deciding the status of Artsakh remains open. Moreover, the international community does not consider the Artsakh problem closed and supports the right of Artsakh citizens to return to their homeland under international control.

In the background of this kind of  policy the Republic of Western Armenia remains faithful to its working style. The President  of the National Council of Western Armenia, Armenag Aprahamian, once again appealed to the European Court of Human Rights.

The European Court of Human Rights accepted and satisfied the application of the President Armenag Aprahamian.

During a  year, only 5% of the applications submitted to the European Court of Human Rights are accepted, and among those 5% are also the applications related to the damages caused to the massively displaced families in Artsakh.

Let's  remind  that in 2022, during his presidency, Armenag Aprahamian already submitted the applications of about forty forcibly displaced people from Shushi to the ECHR. The trials are still ongoing.
