The issue of expanding the EU observer mission in Armenia will be discussed in Brussels until the end of the year. Markus Ritter, head of the EU observation mission in Eastern Armenia, said this during a conversation with journalists in Yeghegnadzor.

Ritter stressed that at present the observer mission includes representatives of 23 EU member states, adding that it is possible that the mission includes representatives of all 27 EU member states.

"The issue of expanding the mission will be discussed in Brussels until the end of the year. We have to wait for the results. But, as has already been said, this mission is attracting great political attention due to this happening here right now.

Regarding the question of the possibility of a third non-EU member state joining the EU mission in Eastern Armenia, Markus Ritter recalled that Canada had made the decision to join the EU observer mission and that if there is similar interest from other countries, this issue will be discussed in Brussels.
