By a court decision of the Turkish regime, the university where a conference on the genocide committed against Armenians had been held in 2005 has been shut down.
Within the framework of the investigation directed against the “Can” Holding, a new trustee was appointed for the foundation of Istanbul Bilgi University, after which the university was no longer allowed to continue operating. According to the decision published today, the well-known university has effectively been closed.
Bilgi University was founded in 1996. It currently has more than 20,000 students and over 70,000 graduates. The university included 8 faculties and 3 research institutes.
It should be recalled that in 2005, the conference titled “Ottoman Armenians,” dedicated to the genocide committed against Armenians, was held at Bilgi University. In other words, Bilgi became the first university in Turkey where a conference presenting the real truth about the genocide committed against Armenians took place.
