The Armenian-Lebanese restaurant “Zareh,” located in Melbourne, Australia, has officially been named “Restaurant of the Year” at the prestigious Gourmet Traveller Restaurant Awards. This was reported by Guardian Australia.

The restaurant was founded by chef Tom Sarafian and Jinan Bou-Assi. “Zareh” combines the culinary traditions of Armenian, Lebanese, and Egyptian cuisine.

The award has traditionally been presented to restaurants offering high-end, European-oriented cuisine, but in 2026, for the first time, a project representing Armenian-Lebanese cuisine was named the winner.
