Irina Yolyan, a member of parliament from the “Strong Armenia” faction, shared painful memories:
“It was strangely cold that day. Goris was welcoming the people of Artsakh who had lost their homeland. There seemed to be a heavy, inexplicable sense of anxiety in the air.
There was uncertainty, fear, silence, and indescribable pain.
The heaviest burden was not inside the small suitcases carried by the people of Artsakh; that burden was the loss of their homeland.
And as long as there is even one person who remembers that road, the expressions on those people’s faces, those difficult days, and that indescribable pain, the history of Artsakh cannot be erased.”
