In 1928, the Kessab Educational Association decided to construct a new building to meet the school’s growing needs. The foundation stone of the new building was laid on Troy Hill on August 26, 1928.
The folk hero Dayin, Hovsia Saghdjian, played an important role in organizing the construction work. Vartan Shahbaz and Soghomon Geibatian worked alongside him. Numerous workers and craftsmen from Kessab and the surrounding villages joined the work, often traveling long distances on foot.
By the autumn of 1928, the first floor of the building had already been completed, and construction of the second floor had begun. Between 30 and 65 people took part in the work each day.
Following a winter break, construction resumed in the spring of 1929 and was completed in the autumn. By the beginning of the 1929–1930 academic year, the school already had a two-story building with four classrooms, a spacious hall, and a tiled roof.
The construction of the school became an important example of the collective efforts of the Armenians of Kessab, demonstrating the community’s dedication to preserving education and national life.
