On August 16, the Feast of the Assumption of the Holy Mother of God was solemnly celebrated at the Holy Mother of God Church in Kessab. A Divine Liturgy was celebrated under the presidency of Archbishop Magar Ashkarian, Prelate of the Armenian Diocese of Aleppo, with the participation of Armenian faithful from Kessab and various regions of Syria.
During the Divine Liturgy, Archbishop Magar spoke about the significance of the Mother of God and her important role in the life of the Armenian Church, emphasizing that the Church honors the Holy Virgin Mary through its rites, hymns, and prayers.
At the conclusion of the festive ceremony, the traditional Blessing of the Grapes was performed in the church courtyard by Archbishop Magar. Homenetmen scouts also participated in the celebration.
