Azat Gevorgyan, the father of missing serviceman Karen Gevorgyan from the 2020 44-day Artsakh war, has been holding a sit-in protest for the second day in front of the Government building, demanding clear information about his son’s fate.
According to him, for six years he has been trying to determine his son’s whereabouts but has not received any clear answers. He insists that the DNA test results did not fully match, which is why he continues to consider his son alive and keeps searching for him.
Karen Gevorgyan served in Hadrut as a conscript. His father recalls that he last spoke with him on September 27, 2020—the first day of the war. Hours later, his name appeared on the initial list of the fallen, but was later moved to the list of missing persons.
Azat Gevorgyan also stated that he met with Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan and demanded clarification on whether his son is in Baku. According to him, the parents have not yet received any written response from the authorities.
The protesting father assures that he will continue his action until he receives a clear answer regarding his son’s fate.
