The Greek Community of Eastern Armenia Paid Tribute to the Memory of the Victims of the Genocide Commited against Armenians and Greeks

A memorial service was held in the Saint Sargis Church of Yerevan dedicated to the memory of the innocent victims of the genocide committed against the Armenians and Greeks of Pontus in the Ottoman Empire in 1915-1922.

After the funeral ceremony, Eduard Polatov, the Chairman  of the Greek community of Eastern Armenia, gave a short speech at the church. The meeting was attended by representatives of the Greek community and public figures.

May 19 has been approved by the Greek Parliament as a commemoration day of the Genocide against Pontus  in the Ottoman Empire since 1994.
