The inhabitants of Haterk and Tsar (Vaikunik), as well as the Vakhtangs of Khokhanaberd, are descended from the royal Mets of Vakhtang (Vakhtang I or Sakar).

Khokhanaberd is located south of Gandzasar, on the right bank of Khachenaget, on a high hill. In Mets Arank, Khokhanaberd was the authoritative center and its soldiers emphasize their dominance under the name “Ter Khokhanaberdoï”.

There were no complications in the relations within the three-branch government of Artsakh. On the basis of the situation in the homeland, they became rulers only by hereditary right, with the privilege of political and military-scientific abilities. And the others simply obeyed the most circumspect and courageous prince among them.
