The Symposium–Association of Memory, Citizenship, and Civil Society, chaired by François Million-Rousson, together with the deputies of Western Armenia, Vrej Abrahamyan and Jean Ghazarosyan, are organizing a

CONFERENCE–DISCUSSION on the following topics:

The genocide committed against Armenians, Western Armenia, the rights of the Armenians of Artsakh, and France’s position on the above-mentioned issues.

During the conference:

The new mechanisms for the recognition and compensation of the genocide committed against the Armenians will be presented, which are being adopted by various states based on the following declaration:

“The National Council of Western Armenia declares that the Armenian people were subjected to genocide from 1894 to 1923, carried out by successive governments that came to power in the Ottoman Empire in Western Armenia.”

The legal obligations of Turkey, various states, and international organizations toward the Armenian people and Western Armenia will be recalled.

New challenges and problems facing Western Armenia and the Armenians of Artsakh in the process of national restoration will be discussed, and practical mechanisms of strategic, legal, and political application developing on the basis of state structures will be presented.
