Honorable President of the Republic of Western Armenia,
Esteemed President of the National Assembly,
Honorable Members of the National Assembly,

The month of May is marked by many significant dates for the Armenian people. On May 24, 2013, by the decision of the National Council of Western Armenia and the Government of Western Armenia, the National Assembly of Western Armenia was established. Later, on May 9, 2016, the National Constitution was adopted, affirming the high status of the National Assembly within the state system of Western Armenia.

Let us quote Article 83 of the Constitution:

“The National Assembly (Parliament) of Western Armenia is the supreme legislative and representative body of Western Armenia.”

We, the deputies of the National Assembly of Western Armenia, have the honor of being members of this supreme legislative and representative body. Therefore, we must fully understand our responsibility and the necessity of dedicated service.

We may present our goals, promises, and activities with eloquent words. However, all of this loses its value if our actions are not based on morality. The key to our success lies in the improvement of human qualities and in harmony. Otherwise, we may achieve results different from those we expect.

May the feeling of love become our driving force, and may values such as responsibility, honesty, humility, courage, repentance, and other spiritual virtues guide us. By improving ourselves, we also improve society. Our struggle is just and true; therefore, we are also obliged to be just and devoted to the pursuit of truth.

On this meaningful occasion, I wish my colleagues that we all remain faithful to the spirit of the mission of the National Assembly of Western Armenia, preserve harmony, and carry out productive and fruitful work.

I congratulate everyone on the anniversary of the establishment of the National Assembly of Western Armenia.
