The Speaker of the National Assembly of Artsakh stated that they will support those national forces for whom the issue of Artsakh is not closed.
YEREVAN, April 2 – Sputnik. The authorities of the Republic of Armenia are trying to remove all victories related to Artsakh from our people’s memory. This statement was made by Ashot Danielyan, Speaker of the National Assembly of Artsakh and Acting President of Artsakh, during a conversation with journalists at the Yerablur Military Pantheon, addressing the question of why none of the authorities had visited the pantheon on the 10th anniversary of the April Four-Day War.
“In my opinion, this is a planned and deliberate process. For them, the word ‘Artsakh’ and the people of Artsakh should probably be removed from everywhere. First they said ‘our brothers and sisters,’ then ‘displaced from Artsakh,’ then ‘displaced from Karabakh,’ and finally ‘fled.’ I cannot even imagine what comes next,” Danielyan said.
He recalled that the 2016 war was halted at Azerbaijan’s request, and that everyone witnessed how the authorities of Armenia at that time supported Artsakh and the Defense Army, while the events of 2020 still require thorough investigation. Danielyan proposes that the National Assembly publish a report so that society can understand who was responsible and accountable for what happened.
Regarding the upcoming elections, Danielyan noted that they will support national forces that are ready to uphold Armenian interests—not those of other states—and for whom the issue of Artsakh remains open. He emphasized that the issue of Artsakh is not an individual matter; it is a national issue, an internationally recognized right that will be raised in all international platforms.
