The valuable collection of ribbon-shaped amulets in the Matenadaran has been supplemented with another original printed copy, dated 1717. The cylindrical, glued-together sheets contain miniatures and prayers specific to the amulets. The length of the amulet reaches up to 480 cm.

Hmayil was donated to the Matenadaran by Ionna Raptin, professor of Armenian and Eastern Christian art at the Sorbonne University’s School of Advanced Studies, head of the Caucasus Department of the Center for Byzantine Studies at the French College, and Armenologist.
