Greco-Roman wrestler, gold, silver and bronze medalist of the Olympic Games,

Four-time world and seven-time European champion, 97 kg Artur Aleksanyan for the second time in his career became the runner-up of the Olympic Games.

In the finals of 2024  Paris Olympic Games, Aleksanyan wrestled with  the bronze medalist of the Olympic Games, the world and Asian champion, the winner of the Asian Games, and lost 1:4 to his opponent. At the start, Aleksanyan had a 9:0 advantage over the representative of South Korea, Shinjun Kim.

In the quarter finals, the Armenian wrestler wrestled the representative of Uzbekistan, the vice champion of the world with 40-year-old Rustam Asakalov and won an impressive victory with a score of 9:5 due to high willpower in the last seconds.

And in the semi-final, he had a brilliant victory with a score of 5:3 over the Cuban Gabriel Rusillo.

Aleksanyan reached the finals of the Olympic Games for the third time in a row.

This was Armenia’s third medal at the Paris Olympic Games.
