Elya Davtyan, the Speaker of the Government of the Republic of Western Armenia, delivered a weekly summary, presenting the main activities  carried out by the Government in recent days and the priority issues.

The summary noted that the protection of the rights of the indigenous Armenian population of Western Armenia, the promotion of national interests, and the preservation of cultural heritage remain at the center of the Government’s attention.

 In this context, the importance of in-depth study of the linguistic features of Western Armenian and the promotion of its practical application was emphasized. The speaker emphasized that Western Armenian is considered as vital as Eastern Armenian, as a pillar of the preservation of national identity and the process of reunification.

Discussions on the Artsakh issue continued. The speaker reaffirmed that the Artsakh issue should be viewed not only in the context of territorial rights, but also in the context of the rights of Armenians of Artsakh  to self-determination and return to their historical homeland as an indigenous people.

The government is determined to continue its support for these processes, presenting the just demands of the Armenians of Artsakh on international platforms.

In addition, the speaker reported that active organizational work is underway to prepare a number of symbolic events. These include:

Meetings to commemorate the victims of the Genocide committed against the Armenians. It is scheduled for April 24 and 27. 

Development of memorial and commemoration ceremonies for the Republic of Western Armenia, which are of a pan-Armenian and symbolic nature.

At the end of the summary, the speaker noted that the 70th anniversary issue of the “Western Armenia” magazine weekly has been published. The newspaper continues to present its readers with important and up-to-date articles dedicated to the Armenian Question, the history, culture, and political developments of Western Armenia.

The speaker  of  the Government of the Republic of Western Armenia emphasized that the Government will continue its consistent and nationwide work, aiming to protect the dignity, historical rights, and national identity of the Armenian people.
