On June 17, the 20th session of the National Assembly (Parliament) of Western Armenia was held in an online format. Seventeen deputies participated in the session.
Reports on the activities of the parliamentary committees and the government were discussed, along with organizational, legislative, and international cooperation matters. Several decisions were adopted, and new appointments were made, including the election of a deputy and the appointment of a Vice President of the National Assembly.
In his first speech, newly elected deputy Karapet Karapetyan presented a rehabilitation and support program for war veterans, which generated significant interest among the deputies. The proposal will be subject to further discussion and development.
The session also addressed the June 24 event dedicated to the symbolic anniversary of the ratification of the Treaty of Sèvres. The importance of the day was emphasized as a symbol of historical justice and the preservation of the historical and legal rights of the Armenian people.
The session was concluded by National Assembly President Nelly Harutyunyan.
