In an interview with the Turkish newspaper Agos, Armenian photographer and co-founder of the “Armenians of Whitinsville” digital archive, Grigori Jundanyan, spoke about his visit to Western Armenia in search of his family’s roots. According to him, the consequences of the genocide committed against Armenians continue to be passed down from generation to generation, shaping people’s identity and collective memory.

Through his projects, Jundanyan documents the stories of Armenian diaspora families and seeks to restore the family ties that were broken as a result of the genocide. During his visit to Arabkir, he explored the homeland of his ancestors and uncovered stories about the people who saved the lives of his relatives in 1915, emphasizing the importance of preserving memory and pursuing historical justice.
