The 8th Session of the National Assembly of Western Armenia

On March 11, 2026, the 8th session of the National Assembly (Parliament) of the Republic of Western Armenia took place. The session was held online, beginning at 21:30 and concluding at 22:20. Out of the 53 elected deputies, 15 participated in the session.

At the beginning of the meeting, the deputies unanimously adopted the agenda. The first topic of discussion concerned the Armenian New Year according to the traditional Armenian calendar, which is celebrated on March 21. During the discussion, the deputies spoke about Armenian traditional holidays, their meaning, and their ceremonies, emphasizing the importance of their recognition and preservation.

During the session, a draft law on the preservation of the intangible cultural heritage of Western Armenia was also discussed and put to a vote. According to the voting results, it was adopted unanimously: 21 votes in favor, 0 against, and 0 abstentions.
